I think Mondrian had a piece called "Broadway Boogie Woogie", abstract "all over" compositions really do seem to act as "visual jazz".

Here's another pic. of the door, this is the same door #1 is painted on but reverse side. The end result will be 3 doors hinged together as a screen/room divider/reversible painting/triptych/thingy...
I believe Basquiat did some painted doors. That was what sparked the triptych ideer for me.
