Yep, just went out and wrastled some cedar from a huge clear cut area behind Rainier, OR this morning. Got quite a few 5-7' x 8-14"(roughly) nice and round and one rather squatty piece that's 38" tall and 16"x20" slightly oval shaped. All in all it was 2 full size trucks to get it home, so I've got wood for a while! Not to mention it was free so I wanted to get all I could in one helping! And as alot of you know with something like this free usually means hard work, and do it yourself! So I'll be sleeping well tonight! Anyway, I still need to order my tools, but I need to know how long to let the wood season/dry before I can start carving? Most of it seems awfully wet right now! Oh and should I leave the bark on or will stripping it help the wood dry out faster? Thanks in advance for any help!
