The press will always write what they want in the end, I've had my fair share of run ins with journalists over the last year about Mahiki, who even when given the right facts still describe things as "tacky","current trend" and the one I hate most "THEMED!!".
Would you call a restaurant that sells Sushi, Japanese themed or pasta , Italian themed? No, they would just be Japanese or Italian restaurants
No matter how hard I've tried to explain Tiki is a "Style" thats been around for donkeys years, they still don't quite get it here, i even gave one journalist the BOT to take home and read. Another I told we had used around a mile in length of bamboo, which was reported as 5 miles.
Luckily, I from what I've been told, the US press in general go by the " if you can't say anything nice , don't say it at all" ethos, unlike here.
Good press is great, just ignore the bad.
As we say here "Todays papers are tomorrows Fisn n' Chips"
