I was bored tonight, and because the Wahine can't cook (no, really she can't) I made dinner. Grabbed some stuff and made a nice glaze for some chicken I had jerked (please keep the jerking my chicken jokes to a minimum). Here it is for those interested 1/2 cup Water In a wok or deep sautee pan, mix the water, sugar, and molasses and bring to a boil over high heat, stirring until well incorporated. Reduce mixture by one third. Add the juices, stir, and then add the soy sauce. Cook until it comes back to a boil. Next add the extract, spice, and salt. Add pineapple nuggets. Mix the corn starch in a little COLD water, stir with your finger until dissolved. Slowly drizzle this "slurry" into the sauce while stirring the mixture. It will then form into a really shiny and tasty glaze. Have a good one |
