It must be a significant moment in Tiki Culture's worldwide entry to the mainstream when a Mai Tai is served at "The Bull" in Ambridge!
"The Archers" is a long-running soap-opera on BBC Radio 4, and is in fact, the World's longest-running "soap". This "everyday tale of farming folk" started at the end of WWII to encourage British farmers in good agricultural practice (soaps were propagandic right from the start!). It is still followed religiously by thousands of Brits and is regarded as an icon of British culture, although it is also often charicatured as the epitome of parochial "middle England". The Mai Tai made its debut on last Sunday's (09.09.07)episode.
