Just remember we did have total alcohol prohibition in the USA at one time.

If everyone had obeyed that law we would still have it.
It was all of those brave people who paid too much and risked arrest to get blasted on bad gin in speakesays that gave you the right to sip a Mai Tai today.

The 21st admendment to the constitution would have never passed if the government was not faced with the fact people would not stop drinking. Either they could tax alcohol and help get the country out of the depression it was in or Al Capone and the bootleggers could continue to collect that money.

Look at illegal immigration, if 20 million people break a law the government can not afford to continue to enforce it.
