Spent a weekend in Charlottesville, Virginia, a few weeks back and had some tremendous finds...
Great parrot painting, it's about 3 feet high...

This painted wooden parrot on a stand found a home in front of our Hukilau print:

Those parrots are stockpiled for the day we do a home bar. Of course, we need to not be renting, but I digress...

Great paperback tie-in novel for HAWAIIAN EYE: love how the tiki painting goes across the spine of the cover:

Probably the best find, though, was leaving the bathroom of this total junk 'antiques' store and finding... some Karate Punch mugs, an unmarked blue Moai, and I nearly choked as my breath left me upon spotting... MR. BALI HAI!!!!! Even though its price was ridiculous, since his nosebone was in place and the lid was around, I ponied up for it - an egregious Five dollars.

I will say that washing Mr. Bali Hai revealed some truths: be careful with painted vintage mugs! Some of the paint on his lips and one eye came off after a quick dip in the sink. Still, a tremendous find.

Cheers,
Rupe
