It's really good to do pretty much what you did. Like...let's say you have a very rough sketch, you scan it in, ink it out with the pen tool then you can color it in, then you can take out the lines and pretty much have what you have with yer card right now. I used to be big on photoshop, but since I started using Illustrator for digital ink and paint, i've fallen in love with that program a lot more. Tho, don't get me wrong, I still use Photoshop for coloring...especially to mimic water color type painting on PS! :D
