NICE...I saw a few others similar to this. His solo reading of this song is just amazing.

I wish he was still alive so I could go see him play. :(

This is the one I saw

Tikiyaki,
Thanks so much for the link to this video. It's really wonderful. I had not seen this before.
My wife and I were lucky enough to see Arthur many times but always at the New Otani. And even though we could only make it a couple times a year we met several locals who were always there. It was always a fun Friday afternoon. Arthur was always so wonderful and happy to sign albums. He signed my "Taboo" album that I bought when it was first released. We were there once for our anniversary so he always asked us what song we wanted to hear.

We truly miss him.

Wow, great story. It sucks to discover these great people after they're gone (which is the case with me)

A few days ago, I actually tracked down Harold Chang, his percussionist on all those albums (some of Martin Denny's too) who is still alive and managing the drum dept of a music store in Honolulu. I talked to him for a few minutes and told him I was sending him my CD (The Tikiyaki Orchestra)

I really wanted to ask him all kinds of questions about the days of playing with lyman and Denny. I guess I'll have to save it for the next time I go to Honolulu and track him down at the store and bug him (which I WILL do)

I also would love to know what happened to Gene Rains...no one seems to know anything about him.
