As far as TG making music inspired by Martin Denny, have you heard Chris and Cosey's (of TG) "Exotika?" The title track is a great "contemporary" (it was the 80s I believe) version of...well...Exotika. Their "Musik Fantastique" was somehwt along the same lines. Jack
