Safeways around here carry dry ice. Pack some dry ice around it let it sit til it's beyond frozen, then try your nut cracker. Wear goggles. 8) I was going to mention (before I heard that you had a nut cracker) that after you deep freeze it with dry ice, hit it with a blow torch. The change in temp should crack it.
