I'm not an overly negative person, but I am trying to be more positive in my participation here in Tiki Central. I noticed I usually say something critical. I guess because I love it so much I want to be very stern with bars or restaurants unworthy of our support. And generally I'm very stern with Trader Vics, because they always disappoint me. No different with the Las Vegas location. In fact, I didn't even want to stop in to see this for myself. I knew it would be a shit show, but I must've imparted some love for tiki in my girlfriend after all this time, because she said "if we are going to be drunk, we might as well be drinking good drinks." True. BUT
Garbage garbage garbage garbage garbage boring bad drinks. They don't stock Lemon Hart, the bartender didn't know what it was. So I opted out of the Navy Grog. He told me he didn't like grog mix anyway. So I asked for his Mai Tai. Ice with TV mai tai mix is what I got with the pre mixed Punch rum. Then after the fact he said I coulda got one old fashioned if I wanted. oops you failed to mention that,I guess I figured you would've done it right the first time. girlfriend's Fog Cutter tasted like iced down oj. So much ICE! Alcohol almost undetectable. I'm so perplexed by the monument to bad bar/ restaurant management that is Trader Vics.
didn't eat the food though, so maybe it was good.
