I've been to Trader Vic's in Vegas a couple of times but I haven't posted a review yet. So, rather than a review I thought I would offer a suggestion that would help all the readers get the most out of Trader Vic's Las Vegas.

Go before the sun sets.

That's right, suck down as many Mai Tais and Navy Grogs as you can before it gets dark. Then stumble off into the night and see what trouble you can cause on the rest of the strip.

The reasons are that after the sun sets, the really horrible dance music starts. As the light from the large glass windows starts to fade you'll notice the lighting in the ceiling and under the bar. And once it turns dark, the bartenders become even bigger douchebags than they were before.

If you go during the day, you can talk to the bartenders and make sure they make your drink the way you like. The sunlight in the room is actually very nice and I don't really mind that I'm not in a traditionally dark Traver Vic's. As a matter of fact, I'm in Las Vegas, getting totally drunk in the late afternoon, which is a luxury I can't enjoy at home. It's not the normal Trader Vic's experience I know and love, but it's not a bad way to kick-off a night of debauchery in Las Vegas.

If you go at night, however, you'll just get frustrated for all the reasons that have been previously detailed in this topic.

PS - I'm actually looking forward to the Patio in the summer. I think I could enjoy the patio at night, the view is great and you'll be able to do some good people and fountain watching.
