I think we need to get back to the original intent that Tom Slick had in posting this thread.

And to answer his question from my perspective... no, everything about tiki's mid-century heyday has certainly not been discovered, discussed and archived in some fashion. Just look at Sippin' Safari. If Jeff Berry had thought that way, the book would have been nothing but a collection of lost drink recipes. That would have still made for one hell of a book, but the true magic of that book is in the stories of the people who made these places happen. Jeff has said himself that he didn't know those stories existed until he pushed back the cobwebs and went exploring. And then the stories surfaced. I think we can learn a lesson from that. Who knows what nuggets are still out there waiting to be uncovered and shared for everyone's mutual enjoyment?
