Well, I picked a foul day to travel to London. 80 mph winds battered Britain yesterday.

I warmed up, predictably, at London Trader Vics with a Black Stripe (Fine Jamaica Rum, Honey, crushed Cherries and Spices .... steaming hot) - then a club sandwich and a Navy Grog to re-tox before the girly, afternoon spa trip to the May Fair Hotel and a touch of urban archaeology.

Unfortunately, the weather was not at all conducive to photography, so I took no pictures... but this I can tell: the May Fair fronts Stratton Street at its main entrance and Berkeley Steet to the side. No sign of the distinctive plaques nor railings but the 5-star London hotel has recently undergone a £70 million refurbishment, so it could have changed substantially. I couldn't even work out an orientation on the streetscape that could have led to the movie's screen shots having being taken at the May Fair.

But I will go back in fairer weather!
