I used burlap on my ceiling. I bought a roll at a fabric store and stapled it to the ceiling joists. After the burlap was up I nailed bamboo poles along the seams. With a drop ceiling maybe you could use hot glue from a craft glue gun. Kind of tricky applying hot glue right above your face but it would be easy to pull down later.
