Thanks for the tip, I didnt realize that it was ok to trap moisture in. Well, I also noticed that there's mold growing at the bottom of the tiki. I applied a wax at the ends, which I'm not sure it was the right thing to do. oh well, if they crack, that'll just add character. =)

I think the quicker the better, now that you already carved it. Stain it, coat it with a sealer, and that will prevent it from drying too quick and cracking.
