Went to the LV location this week - felt I had to check it out just to confirm, but sadness reigns. Their cocktail menu itself is a delightful update of the classic Vic's menu but the experience was mitigated by the (lack of) decor.

My order of "a mai tai from scratch" got the following response from our server:
"we use a prepared, concentrated mix." So basically that's not an option. So yeah, they're charging about $10 for mai tais from a mix. I realize that sometimes the bar's version of pre-mix isn't the same as what's in the grocery store, but still - "from scratch" should be an option.

I ordered it anyway. It was actually quite strong, a very healthy pour when it came to the booze, but the presentation was lacking. No garnish? - (((EDIT: photographic evidence reveals there was a lime after all, but that's it)))Plain glasses, no tapa print or Trader Vic's on the glassware.

My mai tai wasn't red, but I wouldn't have been surprised if it had arrived with that coloring. Since it was the end of a long night, we didn't explore the cocktail menu any further.

Disappointedly yours,
Rupe
