As someone who has been on a couple of excavations (Roman/Etruscan), these quests for vestiges of Poly-pop paradise lost really invoke the sense of romance and adventure that first drew me to my lifelong interest in archaeology. Thanks to all of you who are documenting these disappearing places. The photos and info are really fascinating! There is something about lava rock walls with the clean lines of post war Bauhaus inspired architecture. Throw an A frame and Tikis into the mix---does it get any cooler?
