Also, I assumed the majority of tikis are carved from palm but I'm finding that may not be the case. Are there woods that are better for starters? Basswood was mentioned but I'm wondering what other common woods are "kosher" to use for tikis. Also curious as to where some of you carvers are getting your logs from.
