Recent sunset:

I had another visiting artists dayhere at the House of BUzz over the weekend. Click the link to see all the festivities. Good times indeed! Might have to do that again.

I worked on the nose and did some overall cleaning up of this guy that day:

Then I had to shelf him again while I made a quick custom sign:

Lot of letters in a small space...

Between the steps of the sign making process, I grabbed a few pieces of exotic wood to work on later:

It's from a carob tree. Here it is with some oil on it to show the grain:

It's very hard and gnarled. Looks like I can get a few good pieces from those chunks. It was a huge log, and those were the best of the bunch.

Then I was finally able to get back to this guy:

I did some more work on the tongue and upper teeth since this picture was taken:

Buddy Cat stopped by while I was working to check up on me and the tiki:

He gave my progress a good looking over...

before he took it upon himself to go get dinner:

 Buddy Cat poised on top of the gate, ready to strike.
Good thing it was Taco Tuesday at Del Taco because LuckyBird got away. :(
For the first time he's hunting something for dinner I've actually eaten before!

T.Me would be the place to sell them too so it might be advisable to bring a lap-top..? Tama :)

PS: I think that magic Maori hook-knife might come under NZ Culture & Heritage 'restricted artifacts' bylaws, which state that certain items of particular cultural significance must be returned to Tangata Whenua.. Tell you what - send it over to me and Ill pass it on. There shouldnt be any trouble..

How much do you think a contemporary "Maori Buddy Cat" would fetch?

...and as for the couch and a beer, Deal! Since the knife is of such historical significance, it will be best if I hand it over directly. Wouldn't want any chain of custody issues to arise. See you soon! Warn Paipo...

Robin: Good luck on the trip! Have fun.

Thaaaanks to G, Duddy, Cammo, FlatBack, Fballs, seeks, and Ruzzic for the comps on the headress. Now I have to go out in the sun and smack some little pieces of wood off a big log.

Heat wave a comin'
Buzzy Out!
