I am flattened, flattered and flabbergasted by such attention, gimme two Navy Grogs so I can take it:

HUKILAU is on track to become the South's major Tiki Festival. This inaugural year the event will include a special ceremony to honor Sven Kirsten, who'll receive a large piece of Witco art entitled Firedancers and a plaque appreciating his work through the BoT, inspiring many of the artists at Hukilau including tiki mug newcomer Saint-Thomas, and the event itself.

Hukilau 2002 opens with an Aloha Bash featuring jaw-dropping set design by master tiki carver Wayne Coombs of Mai Tiki, whose towering fire-breathing, smoke-bellowing tikis will provide the atmosphere for surf guitarists The Penetrators, lounge by UberEasy, swing rock by Johnny Knox and HI TEST!, and an evening of surprises at Atlanta's swank ECHO LOUNGE.

Saturday 20th will highlight the artists and their wares at Atlanta's award-winning DJ venue FOUNTAINHEAD LOUNGE, including Moritz R, Dave Burke of Monster Fetish, Jacklyn Laflamme, KreepyTiki of Miami, and more. Saturday night Atlanta's TRADER VIC'S will be taken over by Polynesiacs including Sven Kirsten and King Kukulele, with music by the He'e Amakuas.

Sunday 21st Atlanta's famed STARLIGHT DRIVE-IN hosts the Hukilau and we pose for the cameras of Turner South, a cable network doing a documentary on the Drive-In.
