Sitting across from me was a sweet looking Japanese/American lady with a very nicely scarfed and tapered walking cane, obviously sporting a carved tiki handle, but it was facing away from me, so I asked her to show it to me. She gladly did, and told me it was carved from koa with a pen knife over 50 years ago by a talented friend who has passed on. It was an excellant rendition of the famous Ku, of which the original is standing inside Bishop Museum.

I'll try to carry a camera in the next week's mornings to try and get pix.
