Although sea turtle shells are classic parts of tiki establishments, I think that at present it is illegal to possess a sea turtle shell since they are protected by the endangered species act. I believe that there are some exceptions for shells and turtle items that are "pre-ban" (which from the looks of it your shell probably is), but you should still be careful with it. It's a cool find, but I just wanted you to be aware that there might be some legal issues to having one.
