Bigbro, I read with great interest the discussion you and others were posting, hence my two cents on the matter. The unhijacking sentence was more about commenting on Trump (the king of tacky) thinking tiki was too tacky. I still haven't wrapped my head around that.

While I don't have your vast knowledge on the subject, I disagree with your sentence 'The Tiki revival seems to get a second boost nowadays thru the backdoor of the cocktail'. I see the cocktails more as a front door. But, no matter, it is about getting them IN the door in the first place.

While we may never see new Atomic Age styled buildings offset with primitive decor, tiki drinks becoming popular again is a step back in the right direction. Imagine if we lived in the world that the 1962 worlds fair and Walt Disney's plans for EPCOT promised.
