The listing above has pics of all the color plates and the binding is spectacular. This is definitely a book that belongs on your shelf. Melville loosely based the book on his own experiences and it was a huge bestseller and started his career before Moby Dick was even a glimmer. It was also the first introduction for the American public to the romanticized version of Polynesia that we all celebrate today.
