You mentioned in your last post about hopes for the future of tiki in new places as the old ones go out. I have a question, as to what actually makes a place 'tiki' or at least considered officially tiki? I like going to Islands, but its obviously very commercial. I prefer the tiki places that have been 'broken in' as opposed to new, high tech tiki. But then again, I'd love it if someone would open a video tiki bar where re-runs of Hawai`i 5-O could run on a loop and have tiki movie theme nights!
