I met Isaac Hayes a few years ago when he was performing at Yoshi's in Oakland. I was at a nearby restaurant where a friend of mine was playing piano. He come over to the booth where my friend and I were sitting on his break to talk to my friend about possibly working with Isaac's band. He was a very nice gentleman. Oddly, he and Bernie Mac had just made a movie together that is scheduled to be released next year. Let's hope their co-star Samuel L. Jackson isn't next to go!
