I don't know the official name of this stuff, but have been collecting it for years. It goes well with tiki decor. Objects made of abalone or paua shell imbedded in clear lucite. A perfect marriage of my fascination with iridescence, and my inexplicable compulsion to laminate things.

It's made into trays, paperweights, wall plaques, and spoon rests, etc. Even toilet seats, which I would love to have. But $100 for a toilet seat seems a little extravagant, unless you work for the Pentagon.
