Buzzy, that is definitely a Maori tourist item, what a great cross-cultural piece!
Maybe there was some kind of pharmaceutical convention in N.Z. and Benadryl had these made as mementos? Not the greatest carving indeed, but it's based on existing Maori carvings. High weirdness value, for sure! [ Edited by: bigbrotiki 2008-10-09 09:34 ] |
