Bill...I agree with Soccer tiki. Don't knock it until you try it.

Also, Kona is a fledgling Tiki establishment with a HUGE overhead in their first year, and in THIS economy.
If you choose not to go, fine, but speculating on whether it will be better than the "old days" is pointless and really not very helpful to a place that deserves to stay in business. It's the last standing original Tiki Restaurant in Orange County.

While I'm not in any way defending the way they handled the last event there that you're speaking of, I still think we should all support Kona, and the fact that they are trying to preserve the once great legacy of Sam's Seafood.

Just consider the whitewashing that the Royal Hawaiian got, and then consider how Kona has stuck to it's Tiki roots. That's commendable, and they don't need frikken naysayers doling out criticism without ever seeing the product.

Now, go to your room ! :x

I'm sure the show and food will be top notch.
