Art Exhibit "ill Frame" Preview/Show
Announcement
Thundertom Productions puts together a
collection from Long Island artists, a
panorama of paintings, drawings and
photography. "This will take place all within an
intriguing, yet somewhat of a haunting setting
in Chev Vous. Chev Vous a carribean
restaurant in Freeport may very well be a
potential setting for one of the strangest, most
eerie dreams you will ever have once
experiencing this venue. With that in mind it
will most definitely add to, and characterize the
overall outcome of the show", Tom contests.
"Ill Frame" the title of the exhibit, is sure to be a
fascinating and impressive show that
constitutes a most diverse sampling of artistic
expression.
Beyond promoting bands at unique venues
and mixing together divergent sounds and
styles of Dj's, Thundertom Productions
presents an opportunity to take a deep dive
into art based popular culture within the
underground music industry along with some
intensely expressive paintings and
photography. Subject matter ranges from
capturing ordinary people and objects in less
than ordinary situations to capturing
extraordinary people and objects in ordinary
situations.
Overall the pieces in this exhibit create a
pictoral universe that provides a cut-away
image of a humanity given over to a wonderful
absurdity as well as a visionary energy.
This show features artist Stephen Ritsua,
whose paintings focus on a mix of nostalgic
and sci-fi images. These works have a
1940/1950's feel and are depicted with a
touch of a flash-art-style.
"Ill Frame" unites art and music with sets a la
Dj Easeback and Dj Nick Pepe, as an
instrument of subjective communication. Every
aspect of this event, from art and Dj's spinning
rocksteady, reggae and electropunk to the
Carribean cuisine, exploit the natural
predisposition to create links between reality,
illusion, and pleasure of the senses.
