Much tarter than I expected, and the rum really came forward more than I usually like. Having said that, it is a remarkably well balanced drink. The rum flavor shines through, while the other ingredients temper the fire a bit. My first one I used an entire lime, and it sort of overpowered the rest of the ingredients. The second one I measured out 1 1/2 oz (per the Grog log) and I could taste the rest of the ingredients. Lovely drink, and definitely a regular in the rotation!!!
