I just hope it won't end up like the Sci Fi Channel's Flash Gordon of last season, with a Dr. Zarkov who was a goofy, clumsy comedy sidekick (in the original he was the smart one who came up with all the cool weapons and fought at Flash's side), and an Emperor Ming who was played by a milquetoast caucasian Canadian actor (I'm not knocking Canadian actors in general, Edmonton; Christopher Plummer was splendid as a Klingon Warlord). When I went online to find out what was going on after the new Flash series was announced, they said they deliberately picked a boring white guy to play Ming because it wouldn't have been politically correct to make him Asian.
