I received the swizzles I mentioned previously. Mostly tiki with a few kiwis, some Air NZ tiki toothpicks and a set of Zulu Lulu thrown in:

Closer pics:

The guy on the right is an early Air NZ (FLY AIR NEW ZEALAND). The same design and colour was also used for Teal Airlines, which became Air NZ in 1965.

I suspect these cool blue taiaha swizzles are made by the same company as the cocktail sticks in my previous post....

All marked NEW ZEALAND

Just back from 5 days or so in the city (and elsewhere!)and the pickings were pretty good:

14" Kava bowl, just need to refinish the surface with something foodsafe (I'm keen to use it for its intended purpose!) Any suggestions?

A nice book on Primitivism in Modern art, - includes Marquesan, Rapa Nui, PNG and others, juxtaposed against similar works from the modern era. This book is proof that it always pays to go back to some places for a second look!

I also found the motherlode of tropical shirts, which are not easy to source here unless you like the newer, ill-fitting chainstore variety. I saw some beautiful vintage shirts but I only buy what I can wear, so some of the coolest designs had to be left behind. I did get an Iolani which I became very excited about , and a couple of sweet Fijian (or possibly NZ) made shirts. (PICS SOON)
I actually managed to wear all 3 shirts in the few days I was there too - I'm sure my family thinks I'm slightly unhinged!
