Here's the making of my latest mug project.

As I guess many of you have spotted my work is inspired by Marquesas art.
So when it came to designing a smaller, tiki mug I decided on the classic marquesas crown/headress for the starting point.

Titled - Pai-kua


Once I'd sorted the size, I started off with a block of plaster, pre-shaped from pouring into a cola bottle.

Then came the job of roughing out the proportions.

Here's the final master.

Thanks to the help of the nice folks at Cheekytiki, I'm very happy with the final glazed mug.
