Interesting topic! I like it. (Or, you can just delete it and we can go back to talking about mugs and mug collecting).

But seriously, latest evidence indicates there may have been several varieties of Neanderthal, all in different areas (Except here in America). There were middle eastern, European and Asian Neanderthals, all slightly different, and the DNA evidence seems to back that up.

And then there is Homo Anteccesor!
