Sorry, I know you posted this days ago, but my daughter, the infamous Miss Thing wants to go (she hearts the Hula Girls!) and she would love a crafty area. Her dexterity skills are probably about an age 12 level. You could always run a chain from the mallet to the table, long enough to use there, but too short to run off with it. Like a pen at the bank!
