For anyone who (I can't believe it!) has never heard of some of these bands that will be here, or who is new to this forum, here is a run down on the bands:

The Smoking Menehunes: Absolutely standard Hapa Haole Hawaiian music from the 20's, 30's 40's and 50's. Soft, Gentle, no drummer. led by a Native Hawaiian singer/ukelele player, Pat Enos. Also featuring Tiki Bong on steel guitar. This is one of the few people "banned for life" from this forum. He is Tiki Central's "bad boy" and will also be the emcee of the whole event. He happens to totally smoke on steel guitar. This is the classic music of Hawaii. Think Don Ho and Sam Kapua singing to Bobby and Cindy Brady and you get the idea!

The Tikiyaki Orchestra: A large group playing mostly original exotica. These guys are f-ing incredible. Very tight, polished. Led by Jim Bacchi, a total genius. This band features vibraphones, exotic drumming courtesy of a percussionist and tiki central's famous artist, Squid on drums. Also featuring Gary from the Blue Hawaiians (and spongebob) on steel guitar. If you like Martin Denny and Arthur Lyman, you are going to love these guys!

Exotiki: Again, a large group. Featuring Kevin from Big Sandy and the fly-rite boys on bass. This band melds exotica, western swing, Hawaiian and amazingly, Gypsy hot jazz, and is going to totally and completely blow you away.

The Hula Girls: Despite the name, this is 4 ugly dudes who play rockabilly with surf + Hawaiian themes and elements. Mostly original songs. Think Elvis in Hawaii. Led by Spike (Lucky Designs) who is in Mexico surfing Cabo right now, and will come back and "get" us all with the swine flu.
