Um, I think New York City has the hotness factor for girls and guys and even those in-between- plus when we drink way too many rum drinks we can get home safely on public transportation! I love the West Coast but I still don't mind living in the center of the universe!

Yeah, the not having to drive home thing here is definitely something I wonder about when I'm in L.A. and everybody's partying and having to drive. As great as NYC is, I personally feel that L.A. has alot more going for it as far as my interests go. Tiki Bars, tons of repertory film (The Egyptian, The New Beverly), Griffith Observatory, and just an abundance of kitsch and old Hollywood history, and yeah how can I forget Clifton's downtown. And yeah, a place like Amoeba Records could not exist in NYC (we are about to lose our LAST big record retail store here when Virgin Megastore closes in a few weeks-there will be no more large retail music outlets in NYC as weird as that is!) There area alot of things in L.A. that New York USED TO have up until 10-15 years ago. But with the premium on real estate and all of this ridiculous Bloomberg redevelopment, nobody can afford to be weird here as much as they used to. With all that said, and as much as I love L.A. and enjoy visiting I'm not sure if I could live there. A big part of me would love to move out there, but for some reason I feel like I'm untethered from my physio-cosmic center or something when I spend an extended amount of time out there. I wish it weren't that way, but it's something that I almost have no control over. The only thing I can think of is the traffic, but we have bad traffic in NYC too. I don't know what it is, but if a really, really great opportunity came up out there, I'd probably jump at it. Meanwhile, I'll be staying put until that happens.
