If you don't feel comfortable in a place, no amount of Tiki decor will do, and that is a fact. In a town with a great Tiki bar in the area (you know who you are, Frankie) as well as authentic Tiki history to find, like the Aku-Aku tiki in the park, Trader Vic's has a great opportunity to really rise to the occasion and appeal to the enthusiast, and the non-enthusiast as well. Because a good restaraunt will bring in everyone, regardless of their particular obbies.

Did you not read the press release two posts above yours? They've had their chance to shine and failed. They will not be coming back as Trader Vic's. They are closing. If they come back, it will be as something else. I've been there, and I say "good riddance!"
