That's exactly it! It's a yearly party to celebrate the Kahiki, not a re-creation or imitation of the Kahiki. Marion's is also special because they have been doing a tribute to tiki since when NYC was completely tiki-dry. They are giving props to fun summertime tiki drinkin and the age-old big-time Tiki bar in just a few weeks. Honestly, I look forward to August every year when Marion's provides one more place to call Tiki in NYC. It's a great effort and I REALLY like pu-pu.
really--no Mai tai? that sounds odd. I wonder why not.
