I had to look up J Peterman, now I remember him. Very interesting story here about how the real J Peterman and the actor who played J Peterman are now in business together. I decided I wanted try some bone carving - the real kind, not the fake April Fool's kind :D I bought a chunk of bone at Petco, took a Dremel to it and this is what I ended up with About 2 inches across. I know, it's not an original design but it was good practice. The tail is off center, I may try to make a better one. Bone is cool to work with- hard & strong, no grain issues to deal with, nice color, and polishes up beautifully
