You're right it would disappear probably in the first week. For safety reasons I concrete a treated 4 x 4 post in the ground about 2 ft. down, then drill 2 10" lag bolts thru the post and screw into the tiki. Some folks don't want to put a hole in the backside but there's not a lot of choices. Just use a bag of fencepost concrete (Home Depot $3.00) If you make it tougher to steal so it takes longer to remove, they might decide the risk of getting caught isn't worth it. But then again they might be idiots. Wanted to add that you should place the tiki on a stepping stone (less chance of rot) and make sure sprinklers don't water it.
