Well its been a while since I've posted anything finished. Lots of stuff in the works - thats the way I roll. Fill up a bucket and decide which ones to finish. Well a few projects that I've just finished are as follows;

A couple of Cypress tikis. Simple carves that were done quickly with little attention to finishing details (sanding...they really didn't need it). Carved in Cyprus leftovers from the Mai Kai remodel (yes - I still have access to lots of that wood) and stained with Mahogany color. They are actually darker than they appear - I shot the image so the grain really pops. These guys have a lot of character.

Next is a project for a TC member. We swapped art a WHILE back and this is my contribution. Carved in Walnut - Ku is 8.5", while the top measures in at 17". Carved bone fin for the surfboard (there are many things "wrong" with the board but I will admit - I surf but am no shaper). The board also has some lines carved in it that are very difficult to photograph. I'll let you figure out who the piece is for.

On Sunday wplugger and I went up to visit Benzart. It is truly a joy to go up and see all the stuff in his shop. Some that he has done (tusks are crazy good) and some that he didn't! he helped me finish the Ku and gave me some advice on another. He also gave me one his tusks - no - not the carved ones. Well, I brought it home and got motivated to start another project. I dove into the tusk with a fury and it is almost done - pics soon.
