Yes, you guys bring up a good point about losing the "presentation" (and, therefore, a portion of the enjoyment) of tiki drinks. I guess as someone that has been drinking these cocktails for years, when I go out I want to be able to sample a selection of new tastes and see if there's something fantastic that I've been missing. As anyone trying to drink his/her way through The Grog Log can tell you, there are MANY drink recipes out there. It would be wonderful if there was a way to take some of these cocktails for a test drive. It's no fun getting stuck with 16 oz. of a poorly made (or just ill-tasting) drink, but this could just be an issue of me not drinking as often as I should be. Dangergirl: what was your experience with the cocktail flights? Did it seem like a good way to sample the drinks or did the lack of garnish & mug make it not so exciting? |
