Happy Haole-Ween Tiki Tribe!
tikigodz~ Thanks, glad I could help inspire you do make some art! Yeah, going strictly brush is a chore! Smoothing out a sky is one of the hardest processes for me right now. Layers and layers of semi-transparent acrylic. Just when you think you got it looking smooth, you step back and it's all funky. But eventually, when it works, I really dig looking close and being able to see these little brush marks and textures. It's cool to see the "process". So, it'll all be worth it.... I hope. Would be lots faster with an air brush, but would it be "art" or "illustration" then? (ERGH! That old question!)
Anyways, here's what I did last night...

smoothing out some more. Dropping in some basic color on the "sword","wand" and cherry.
Aloha
B~
