True, our Grandparents did shop at the above mentions stores, but there is a major difference. Those establishments generally coexisted side by side with the neighborhood stores. They did not make it their mission to come into a town and devastate its businesses. Hey, I'm not some black flag waving Anarcho-Syndicalist bent on the destruction of capitalism (Viva Durrutti!). And this is not about small town vs. big city either. What I am decrying in the deliberate destruction of NEIGHBORHOOD business by large chains as a corporate policy. That' all I'm going to say on it! I have a suggestion, go grab your copy of 'The Gentleman's Companion', turn to page 78 and make yourself (all of you-ALL OF TIKI CENTRAL) an Okolehao Cocktail.
