The Ala Kai motel was built in 1963, and is still in operation today. Couldn't find much early stuff on it.

I thought it was kind of funny that they have to take the fronds off the palm trees each winter.

Their sign was famous for the surfer girl image, which at some point fell off or was removed, and then restored in 2007. However, you can tell from the early postcard that its not the same design.
