Thanks for that lp photo, bigbro! Nice to see those drinks actually sitting on the tables. The Covarrubias-like artist is Cornelius De Witt. He illustrated a whole series of these books in the 40s for Little, Brown & Company, as well as the Golden Encyclopedia. They appear to be done in pastel or colored-pencil. The books are over-sized, so the illustrations are nice and large.
